MSC Software produces several types of engineering software including Apex which is a simulation software used by engineers to understand the forces that could affect structural integrity of Computer Aided Design (CAD) model.
The Custom Defeature Tool used to optimize the CAD model was never tested for usability.The goal of this project was to investigate the usability of the current Custom Defeature Tool, and develop a solution to improve the user experience, where necessary.
Four methods were used to investigate the process and flow of Custom Defeaturing.
We addressed the issues discovered in the research and our team was able to design an improved user experience for the Custom Defeature Tool. The comparative results are detailed in the Cognitive Walkthrough 2 - New Design PDF.
Roadrunner Sports is a brick & mortar running and walking apparel store that is also an online retailer.
This was solely an investigative project. The goal was to establish benchmarks for customer expectations in this domain through a competitive analysis and investigate the current customer experience for finding a pair of running shoes and adding them to the shopping cart.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY User testing revealed some problems with content presentation and the usability of the Before & After image module. The designers updated the interface to address issues in accordance with the user expectations that we documented during testing.
This project involves the BOTOX Cosmetic consumer website redesign during 2014. I had some usability concerns with the design and was able to convince the team to pause and perform some usability testing to validate their design ideas.

Our goal was to research the interaction between parent and child surrounding chores. Then translate the research into a viable solution for using chores as leverage to help parents manage the amount of screen time for each of their children.
